Toshiba e400 need help

I have a Toshiba e400; I've been using it for many years now and I want to further make use of it. I just recently bought an IR wireless keyboard, but the problem is that the IR port on the e400 is on the bottom left, which is not practical with the use of the wireless keyboard.

Is there a way in which I can rotate the screen to landscape view? Also is it possible to update the OS on a PDA, I've never tried to before.
