I have burned approx 50-60 movies on DVD-R media using "DVD Shrink 3.2" and "DVD Decrypter ver.3.5.4.0" and on two occasions have run into a problem where I have inadvertently caused a blank DVD-R to become unusable (non-writeable) thru a process that shouldn't of cause this to happen. Now these disk are 99% EMPTY and can not be used!
The process that has caused this is as follows:
1. After I created my ISO movie file using "DVD Shrink 3.2",
2. I start up the "DVD Decrypter" program and choose my ISO movie file to burn.
3. Once I've choosen the ISO movie file I load a blank DVD-R into my DVD+-R Drive.
4. With the blank DVD-R loaded, "DVD Decrypter" indicates it's ready to burn by showing the green arrow.
5. The problem is caused when I choose NOT to proceed with the burn (with the green arrow still up) and close the program.
6. When I run "DVD Decrypter" again and load that SAME blank DVD-R disk into the drive, I get the "Disk Not Empty" message in "DVD Decrypter".
I know that somehow in step 3 a small amount of data must of been burned to the media (possible to intialize it or something) causing the "Disk Not Empty" message.
Does anyone know if there is any software on the market that can trick or create a new starting point and make an almost blank (which can't be burned) DVD-R burnable again?
It would be nice to know if I can restore these DVD-R disk burnable again.
I don't have any problems with my DVD drive or the DVD-R media. My only problem is getting those two DVD-R disks (that got a small amount of data burned to them) usable again in "DVD Decrypter".
