Divx playback problem on DVD player

Hi,

I've a problem I'm trying to figure out. I found a workaround for Macs, but I use windows and can't find a similar solution.

I'm burning DivX movies to DVD and playing them in my DVD player (Toshiba SD-k850) on my TV. It works fine if I burn the data files to a CD, but not a DVD. The advice I found says

When I burned a DVD with DivX files in it using Toast 7 in the iso 9660 format and the mac/pc data it will NOT play; but if you use the DivX setting(select never encode) and burn the disc it WILL play
This leads me to believe it has something to do with the file system, but I cannot find any option like the one mentioned in Roxio for Windows. Does anyone know how I can burn the files to a DVD and still have them work?
