I downloaded a program called smart pc recorder, it works ok. I'm transfering some old tapes and records to my pc. I have a cable running from linein on my pc to headphones on my stero.My problem is even tho I have stero comming from my stero system, I only get sound coming from one of my pc speakers. If I play a cd on my pc it sounds fine.I'm pretty sure I have the program configured right. I also tried audacity and got the same results.I have xp.I would be grateful for any help with this problem

Does the input indicator in Audacity show that you are recording two channels? It sounds like you may have a problem with your cable or connections.
