I am looking for some clarification on the steps needed to copy a copyrighted DVD. Is this right

Use a decrypter

Everything you need to know is here: http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/Guides.htm The DVDFabDecrypter guide uses free programs, AnyDVD and CloneDVD are great but aren't free and I believe Ripit4me is no longer supported.

Take a look at this link:
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/Guides.htm
There are guides for all the most popular ways of backing up a
copyrighted DVD. There are also downloads for the softwares
mentioned.
The guides walk you through the different processes step by step.
They are some of the most complete guides available.
Hope this helps.

hi all

first thanks for your help, awhile back i was successfull copying a couple of copyrighted dvd's but i had forgot what steps i used.

now i remember, i used DVD Shrink and it worked great, i have used it again and worked but when i try to play the dvd my default player doesnt start up, all i get is the e drive window popping up showing the file, i can play it from there but its no good if i wanna give the dvd to a friend.

Your "friend" should copy his own originals.
