Games with firware updates

Well i just basically wanted to start a thread to help everyone who is scared of bricking their wii's and what not. So far i only know that Super paper mario has an update. Any more?

Spiderman 3 (I have heard some say it updated their Wii but I have no clue if there is actually 1 on this game disc)

As for being scared to update the Wii. Keep your Wii updated with the most recent firmware and you will have nothing to worry about. Simple as that.

yeh, another reason i created this was so that in the future anyone can just look here to see which gamesd have updates - or to look out for.

PAL Mario Strikers (on a PAL machine) for me prompted for a system update, even though I was already on 2.2 and no new updates were available online. It spooked me a bit, but eventualy I accepted it and it was fine.

Listen to what Larry says in his first post. You don't need to list ANY games that have updates. You don't need to be concerned about bricking any wiis as long as you keep it updated online.

Look, it's simple really. If you put in a game and it wants to update your firmware. STOP. take out the game and go online with the wii and run the latest firmware update. When you start the game after that, you won't be prompted to update the firmware and no problems.

Actually you still might be prompt to do the update but as long as you have the most recent firmware version it will not update.

I put in Mario Strikers and it still prompt for me to update. But I already had the most recent update 2.2U so I continued with the update which will scan and find out what firmware you have installed. Since I have installed the latest firmware it actually skipped the update.

I don't know why some find this hard to understand. As long as you have the most recent update installed on your Wii you will have no problems.

If the game disc does prompt for the update then accept the update (as long as you have the latest firmware installed) and it will actually skip the update after it scans and notices you have the latest firmware.

How else could I or anyone else explain it better?

It will prompt and say there is an update. But why worry about it? Always keep your Wii up to date and you will have no problem with it.

A good practice to get into is to update your Wii Via Internet before playing a new game disc. that way you know you have the latest firmware installed and if there is an update on the game disc then you will know it is safe to update since you have the latest firmware installed.
