Import Mario Strikers (Wii) On US Consoles?

If I import a copy of Super Strikers (Wii), can I play it on my US Wii or would I need to add a modchip or do some other hack?

You'll need a modchip for any non-NTSC-U game. Search for WiiD or Wiikey for more info on modchips.
