I was comparing my ps2 with my wii..
I turned on both of them(disc spinning)..
The wii has a wii game inside(not gamecube game) and the ps2 has a ps2 game inside(not ps1 game).
and the wii seems to be LOUDER than the ps2..
is this normal? or my wii is just not working well??
yeah thats normal, you have to take into consideration that the Wii has a Full Size DVD assembly in it wheras the PS2 uses the same simple mechanisim without housing which points to acoustics, next you have the Factor the wii has a much largher fan in the back of it than the PS2 and lastly the speeds of the discs are most likely different.
Yeah, that kinda explains it. However I ask the guy at toysrus about it and he said, "That's weird, I don't notice my wii being loud",
so i'm still not sure.. although if that's the case then wouldn't that make the wii system heat up so fast?
not at all.. and I don't play it much..
have you tried turning them on at the same time and then listen to each of them closely(like moving your ears/head close to the consoles)?
my wii makes this continous spinning sound with the fan, and my ps2 makes the spinning sound(but not as loud as the wii) and the ERK sound.
