I have a cyclowiz coming in the mail and I have a few questions to ask before I start homebrewing my games I currently have downloaded Mario Strikers and I have a NTSC-U Wii. I have the latest version 2.2U.

When I put it in will it come up like it wants to update?
(Should I hit yes or no or cancel or whatever if it does)

What EXACTLY is "bricking" something - Ive infered its putting a foerign countys firmware on a system it does not belong

With the cyclowiz will I be able to go under it and hit update system or will it do something to not allow me to update my Wii

In that case first you want to make sure your system is up to date download the most current upgrades just connecting you wii to the internet, after doing this then installing strikers you shhould be fine.

"Bricking" Is making your system about as useful as a brick other terms "Paper weight" It's not going to work afterwards if Bricked

The cyclowiz releases updates that you will burn to disc and thats when your update system under the cyclowiz menu will come into play otherwise just leave it alone.

Just wanted to add that Mario Strikers is 2.2 firmware version.

You could be prompt to do the update which if you are it is safe to go ahead since you already have the 2.2U update.

But as Menion has suggest it is always good to keep your Wii updated Via Internet. As of now you have the latest firmware version available (2.2U)

Depends on your Wii and what media it will read. Wii systems can be picky with media. So you will need to find what media works for your Wii. Then stick with it once you find media that works well. What works for me might not work for you. So it is kinda a trial and error till you find the media that will work best for your Wii.

They could work or couldn't work. Never know till you get your Modchip and make a backup on the disc.

Ok, thank you

If I have the chip in and enabled can I go online with it or will it ban my Mac Adress like XBox

Do I have to disable it to update my wii

Also Can I burn a GC game I downloaded offline to a regular DVD disc and will it work the same?

The only game out for online is Mario Strikers which you can go online with a Modchip. So no as of now Nintendo does not ban you.

No you do not have to disable it. You can update your Wii as you would regularly.

Yes you can burn Game Cube games on a DVD. You can also make Multi-Disc and place multiple games on 1 disc. I have linked to another thread below that shows what program I use to create the multi-disc game disc...

Thank you, Can I have your e-mail incase I have further questions or should I just keep posting them here ?

Does the multi-disc thing work for cyclowiz ?

Also how do I get roms and emulators on my Wii ?

and I saw this somewhere

"DVD-ROM Access Speed**** <6x - For the cyclowiz

Does that mean when I burn the game to a disc I have to use a speed faster then <6x ?

Also to stop my Wii from being "bricked" I just need to ALWAYS have the latest firmware VIA Internet correct ?
