Hey guys. I downloaded the wii play backup the other day in a PAL version I believe, and it was also in the .wii format. I converted the image to an iso with rawdump 2.0 then attempted to burn it. It burned fine, and when I am on the wii menu screen it shows up and everything, but when I go to launch it, it goes into a black screen, then nothing.
It's like the console completely freezes up, and I can't even reset or turn off the console, I am forced to completely pull the power cord out. Is the image completely jacked, or is this game just not supported with wiikey?
NTSC-U. I can play mario strikers charged just fine, which is a PAL game, so the modchip definitely isn't the problem. Has anyone else downloaded the game with the pi.nfo or whatever?
Wii Play PAL is not region compatible with NTSC(U) Wii.
Below is a compatibility chart that list games that are compatible with Region Patcher's or Region Free Modchips.
Since you have a NTSC(U) Wii system you will look under...
PAL to NTSC(U) for PAL game disc that are compatible to play on an NTSC(U) Wii or NTSC(J) to NTSC(U) for NTSC(J) game disc that are compatible to play on an NTSC(U) Wii.
So if you go to the link below and look under PAL to NTSC(U) and find Wii Play in the list this is what it will say...
0003 Wii Sports Recognizes disc, locks up on load
So it is not compatible with an NTSC(U) Wii. You will need to find the NTSC version of Wii Play in order to play the game.
Dang, that's kinda lame. There really aren't any modchips out there that can play everything are there? I live in the US, so I definitely do have a NTSC-U console right? Thanks for the help dude.
