bought a wii key and gave my wii to my mate to mod, he tells me that 2 of the six solder points came away as he was soldering, are there any alternative solder points or any other way of doing it, the 2 points are the 1st 2 of the bank of 3, sounds stupid but can i drill a small hole where the solder points should be an poke the wire through ?

There is no alternate! Why not just put solder on the pad to fix it!

same problem here , wires came off and pulled the whole solder contact off, 3 wires, how can i re-do them? whats put fix?

wow, how did you guys managed to get the soldered points off?

I put the quick pad for my wiid chip on the dvd board and let the solder melted right into the solder points on the dvd board.

you can solder right to the IC legs,
if you guys cant do it, i do repairs and install, jus PM me

M37R01D, if the pad or trace is gone then you can't solder to the legs of the ic. use 30guage mod insulated wire to connect the leg of the ic to part of the trace that is still good. have to clean off the coating off the trace before putting solder on it to tin it before attaching wire to it.
