It's only been around 8 months since the Wii game out and there's already modchips. I've done a lot of research on Wiikey, WiiD and Cyclone chips but I'm still skeptical because there's a large number of people out there who heavily support each of these chips, with their own reasons.
Recently got myself a Wii, so I assume this is good since Nintendo has been shelling out modproof Wii.
If I mod my Wii with WiiKey, would it still be safe enough to "unmod" it? I have little experience with soldering, but looking at how the chip only had 5 solder points...I can easily remove them anytime by unsoldering to revert my Wii back to its original condition, right?
Apparently this mod only affects it hardware wise, not software, therefore it's not like it can ever be detected by Nintendo when I log online or if they ever release games that makes it undetectable. And to me it looks like the only way you can brick your Wii is if only you play PAL games on a NTSC system, right? (who the hell would do that?)
I heard that the WiiKey has some audio issues with a few Gamecube games, but that doesn't bother me since I don't really care for any other except Super Smash, Metroid and all the Resident Evil remakes.
So my question is that is now a good time to get myself a Wii modchip (I'm mostly looking at WiiKey...but I'm very open to suggestions and any reasons why I should prefer another chip) or should I wait a bit longer?
