Alright, so I resoldered the wires in my Wii onto the WiiD chip, and when I went to play a backup, it said it couldn't read the disc! So I updated the chip, and I'm pretty sure it did it, but the backups still don't work! My originals still work, so I know I didn't break the Wii! I opened the Wii back up, and I had put electrical tape over the WiiD chip! There was a burn spot on the tape, right where the microchip on the WiiD is! I'm looking at the WiiD chip right now, and it looks as if it fried or something! Does anyone know if the chip is done? I really need to find out!!!

**UPDATE**
I just looked at my chip and it looks that I soldered the GND wire to the Vcc point, and the Vcc Point to the GND! I'm going to put it back to how it should, and hopefully it will still work!

burn spot? what type of tape did you used?

I used a 2x2 inches piece of duct tape and taped in on the metal part of casing, that's all I did.

your tape might be too thin and this would cause the burn spot.

smell the wiid chip and see if you can smell the burning smell on the chip itself.

Thing about wiid chip is that there is no way to tell if it is fried or not. Only way is to play a backup game.

The reason I got a Burn spot was because I soldered the Vcc wire to the GND, and the GND to the Vcc! I fixed the problem and I'm going to put it back together, and see if it works!!!
