I recently got my wiikey installed. All went well, i already had the 2.2E firmware. I got back from thailand a few days ago and now have a full wii library. Almost all games work except 6 of the games. when i put in the disc, it shows up with the icon and i can click on start game after that the screen just goes to black and the wii mote looses connection and nothing moves from there. I then have to turn off the wii and eject the disc.
Im wondering if anyone else has come across a problem like this with any of their games? ive tried making backups and still the same thing.
Also. as mentioned i have the 2.2E firmware and wiikey installed. I have paper mario but havent had the balls to chuck it in yet with all the talk about brickin and all that. Im in australia PAL wii NTSC (SPM)wiikey 2.2e. Am i safe to put it in. Any one else from aussie with the same setup and SPM work fine. ALOT of threads mention games try to update then its ok eg. COOKING MAMA, SSX BLUR. i have them and when i put them in i get no update never asked to update, no restarting, nothing. game shows up i click start and it works fine.

What games are they?
What Region are the Games?
If they are NTSC(U) or NTSC(J) Game disc it could be possible that they are not compatible playing them with Region Free Modchips.
Below is a guide that list most Wii games and if they are region compatible or not. Since you have a PAL Wii you will be looking under the NTSC(U) to PAL and NTSC(J) to PAL list to see what games will work and not work on your PAL Wii system.
Also make sure you have Region override set to ON for the Wiikey. All you need to do is put in the Wiikey setup disc and set it to ON and save the settings. (Note: When inserting the Wiikey setup disc after you set region override to on it will show the default setting as OFF but it actually is ON if you had changed it to ON and saved your settings)

Since you have the 2.2E firmware already then you are fine to play SPM. You might still get prompt to do the update but this is normal and it is safe to accept the update. It will just check to see what firmware is on your Wii and find you have the latest 2.2E firmware installed and then skip the firmware update.

Every game does not have an update on it. If you set Region Override to ON I would treat each game like it does have an update on it.
The reason SPM has bricked PAL Wii's is because they did not have the Wii updated and it flashed their Wii with NTSC Region firmware. Nintendo has region locks on the hardware so it can not run other Region Firmware on the system.
To be 100% safe turn off Region override and only play PAL region games. But you can also be pretty safe turning the Region override ON and always make sure your Wii is updated with newest firmware.
I think that the games are NTSC(U) none are jap games. I forgot to mention that when i got the mod installed the guy had put on region overide but had forgotten to save the setting. So for the first 2 days none of my games worked.
I decided to download the 1.2 boot disc and check out the settings my self and noticed that the option was set to off. i turned it on and all games where working. cept the 6 which are (splinter cell, siper man 3, super swing gold, trauma center, heatseeker and mario party 7).
So bassically with region overide off no games at all work excepet PIRATES OF THE CARIBEAN 3 which says NTSC on the disc or originals.
You will want to look under the sections of NTSC(U) to PAL and NTSC(J) to PAL to find out what USA and Japan Game disc can play on your PAL Wii.
Here are the 6 games you are trying to play...
As you can see Super Swing Golf/Trauma Center/HeatSeeker/Mario party 8 (You said Mario party 7 but 8 is the only 1 out for Wii)
All the above can not be played on a PAL Wii if they are NTSC(U) Game Disc.
Splinter Cell works in 50Hz mode but not in 60Hz
Spider man 3 works in 60Hz mode and not in 50Hz mode (Wiikey is not listed as a Modchip that was tested so I don't know if this game will even work in 60Hz mode on your Wiikey)
So if you want to play the above games I would suggest getting them in the PAL Region. (Mario party 8 is only out for NTSC so you will have to wait till the PAL version comes out)
