Ok i don't really get all about this firmware stuff because im a noob. Ok i have a psp with version 3.40 on it what is the best version i can get as of now??? Is v3.40OE or v3.40OEA the best? Please help...

the OE stands for open edition. the "A" stands for alpha release; its the first custom version of the 3.40 Open edition.

The difference is that OE is a custom version of the original sony 3.40 release what is a hybrid of the 1.50 version that could play homebrew applications and backup-media.

So it has all the features of the official release but has the ability to play custom programs and backup media aswell.

And currently there is no way to downgrade a psp that has 3.10-3.50 official sony firmware installed in to it.
