Hi

I have recently bought a Panasonic TH42PX70 Plasma TV, and I am playing HD AVI files (700Mb) through a PC connected to it.

I am not convinced that I am getting the full quality I would expect, so I just want to check if my setup will allow this.

I only want the PC for playing this media through the TV, nothing else. The specs are:

2Gb processor
512Mb of RAM
Radeon 9250 (128Mb RAM) with DVI-OUT

The PC is connected to the TV via a DVI-HDMI cable with seperate audio. I have the latest Catalyst drivers which allow the display to be resized to fit the screen. I have set this to 1216x684 which gives no black borders and fits perfectly.

The TV says it is connecting at 720p, and the text on the PC desktop is not very good. This is partly the reason I am wondering if the setup is ok.

I bought the Radeon 9250 because it was not expensive and had DVI output. Is there a certain specification for graphics cards which allow HD displays through the HDMI cable, and does this Radeon meet the requirements ?

Is there a way to get the TV to connect at 1080 ?

Any help would be appreciated.
