Game freezes with authentic wiikey?

Okay I got a wire install from a pro on my wii.
Original works fine but,
when i back up games on my verbatim DVD-R 16x,
the game sometimes freezes or gives me a corrupt disc sign.
Is this most likely a media problem?
if so, what type of DVD-R are most compatible,
I thought verbatim was all right quality :/

try different brands
try different software
are the games the correct region

another problem could be that when you are burning the DVD, you are doing to much on your p.c which may corrupt the burning process, when burning the DVD close down all the programs you have been using and leave your p.c alone, it will make it far less likely to come up with errors.

If i burn a disc at some slow speed like 4x,
doesn't this mean that my wii can only read it at 4x?

u can burn ur games at 12x but the wii max read speed is 6x

its really irrellevant

i burn at 4x on 16x maxell DVD-R discs
good point above is to limit the amount of things ur pc is doing (if) ur pc is not very fast
i generally dont bother but mine is pretty decent 3500 amd and it can cope with most things

u never said what software u use - i use imgburn
or which games they were - some dont work on different regions
