hmm could i just downgrade from 3.40 to something else and then upgrade???

i was wondering, since i have upgraded my psp to firmware 3.40 (normal sony upgrade) by mistake, could i just downgrade to anything other than 1.50 and then just use an upgrader to 3.03(if there is one) and then downgrade to 1.50 and then upgrade to 3.40 OE (or whichever one it needs to be? please let me know because i would like to play my iso's. thank you. :)
