I took a picture of my WiiKey, it looks like the number 4 contact patch is off, do you guys think I can still manage to get it to work?

Just follow the traces and you can solder to the pin instead.

You really have no other option since the pad is gone. Invest in a better wire (30awg) or you can send it to me for a fix. See my website on my sig.

^^ but thats ok????
ya you need to either.
A. solder to the 2nd pin down, on the right side of the wiikey
B. take a small razor, scrape away the coating on the trace till you see the copper, and solder to the trace.
C. send it to somebody for repairs

M37, your point number 2 is interesting, I didnt know I could scrape away the (green part?) until i see the trace and just create a new line, I can do that?
Also Jspot, if I do need you would you be willing just to solder that one pin for me for a cheaper price? (as in without the wii itself) if i cant do it i could drive down to you im about 30 minutes from arcadia i believe
Also I wanted to know if you guys thought even if i did all this if it would work, it doesnt look too burned up or anything like that right?

Sure I can solder it for a cheaper price. Just email me if you are interested. Honestly though, it isnt that bad soldering to the leg of the wiikey compared to the wii board itself. Just use flux and tin your wire.

I looked up a couple terms you used, I read about tinning but I didnt understand flux, i remember wet being used for some reason.
Could you explain it to me, thanks?

Flux is something that you can buy from RadioShack. You use it on contacts where you are going to solder to. Basically it cleans the contacts where the solder will stick more easily to the point. I use this on the contacts and wires as well.

Good to hear that, the only weakness i see in these chips is how close the soldering points are, other than that there great

Yeah actually i direct soldered all except #4 (this is on a exchanged wii so all the solder points on the wii are back) except for the patch that was missing on the WIIKEY itself i soldered to the corresponding leg on the wiikey.
Yeah I was afraid the wiikey was already ruined and soldering it in was difficult because the tip of the iron didnt want to get one point, it wanted to connect 3 lol
