I have currently have Nero 4.9.6.6. and DVD Shrink 3.2 and Azureus 3.0.1.2. I try and try to burn a dvd and like 1 out of 10-20 works the rest of the time I get a error and it stops in the middle of the burning process. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me. Attached is the error thing that it gives me. I can't make heads or tails out of any of it.

Get DMA turned back on for the drive - here's a guide.
This might be playing into these errors from the log - Device not available & Reset occurred
Burn process failed at 16x
Take the burn speed down to 8x.
Instead of autoburning with Nero try ImgBurn instead. Here's a tweak for Shrink to auto burn w/ ImgBurn - link.
Here's a link for Imgburn - link. All free.
Install ImgBurn then install the tweak for shrink.
Now under select back up target pick ImgBurn instead of the Memorex drive. In the burn settings tab reduce the speed from max to 8x.
Try this to rule out any conflicts with Nero (another reason for the reset error).
Not alot of memory in use which is a good thing but if you have any unneeded programs when burning shut them down. One may be interfering w/ Nero - another reason for the device not available, reset occurred errors.
Anything change pc wise since this started happening and you were able to burn fine with this drive?

thank you very much. Im not sure I just got the computer not to long ago and have just started messing with burning dvd's and such. I will give your idea a shot and will let you know what happens. once again thank you very much.

Try DMA 1st. After you do the reboot go back in device manager and make sure the transfer modes all have DMA mode.

after I uninstalled the IDE channel and rebooted and it found the hardware. It went to PIO mode again sigh.

Ok try the process 1 more time - if pio is under transfer mode in the scroll bar change it to dma then uninstall and reboot.
Next suggestion of that doesn't do it would be to switch the drives.
Take this one - Memorex 52MAXX 3252AJ1v2 that's one the master connector and put it on the slave. The Memorex DVD+-RAM 525G v1
would now go to the master connector.
Change the jumper pins on the back to reflect which connector they are on - if master then jumper pin on back of drive should be set to master, slave connector set jumper pin to slave.
If this is a Dell pc though they prefer having the jumpers set to cable select.
