Playstation games on PSP?

How do you play Playstation games on the PSP, and are they playable? I ask because i saw Gran Turismo for the PSP and didnt really think it was feasable. I downloaded it and got a folder named 'SCUS94194'. In the folder is an EBOOT.PBP file 680Mb ish in size and a KEYS.BIN file, 1Kb in size. Is there a playstation emulator or do i just place it in a specific folder on my mem stick? I had about 20 old PS1 games i gave to my young nephew when i sold my PS2 and had no use for them. Is it possible to create an image from an original PS1 disc to make a playable version for the PSP. You can pick them on ebay or at car boots now for like 10p-£1 so just wondering if its been done?

You can create an image from an original ps1 game, but you need to have a custom firmware to play ps1 games. What is your firmware? Oh, and you are suppost to but that SCUS94194 folder inside the game folder in your psp. But you need custom firmware or else it wont show up.

thanks, did some extensive research. Upgraded my 1.5 to 3.40oe and got gan tourismo to play. also had a copy of wwf smackdown 2 - know your role
and converted that with clone cd and popstation GUI. Made a custom eboot with my photoshop skills and sorted! well impressed. Dont like these corrupted icons on all my homebrew (even with the enabled function to remove them in the recovery mode). Does anyone know how to create a video/animation clip for the eboot thumnail? make my psx conversions even better!
