Hmmm it's look like it's fine in size to fit by this in the log - Compile DVD: completed successfuly (4460.37MB)
You have a teensy bit to spare.
Open these files in Recode again and burn that way - there shouldn't be much if any compression at all. Under destination pick the burner instead of hard disk folder.

Did as you suggested and the burn was a success. So somewhere between saving to hard disk folder and using burning rom to compile and burn the project it increased the size of the files to excced alloted apce on my dvd? Any ideads or should I just do as you suggested and burn from Nero recode?

Edit out the serial # - it's in the middle of the log and begins w/ 4c.
Don't need someone else using it.
You know I'm not really sure why the file size increased.
The 1st log shows the output of 4460.25MB and the burn log shows the input size of 4480.22MB - .20 mb more.
You can burn straight from Recode. This one only has 1 audio but for future ones uncheck all but the 5.1 audio - will help some w/ the amount of compression used and help meet the target size.
While we're at it update the drives firmware too - the latest is A106.

Sorry for above was trying to post a screenshot of burning rom for you. I recoded the movie again and tried to burn to hard disk. It still increased the size to exceed the limit for my cd. Yet i can burn with the burner through recode. I have updated my drive and rebooted prior to starting the last recode. Here is the Recode log.

To do the screen pick I used the 2nd url and put it between these tags
Change the size to custom in Recode. Where you see DVD5 click on that scroll bar pick customer and type in 4360. Now I would hope Nero meets the target size when you want to burn later from the hard drive.
edit to add: the screen shot is a bit to small for me to read though :)

Did as you suggested in reducing size in Recode, I then converted a different movie using Vision, thinking that it might have been just that one movie that I was Having trouble with. Recode completed the task with the reduced size but Burning Rom still increased the size. Version of burning rom is 7.0.8.2 I select DVD Video and "New" to start my compilation, select all the files and transfer to Video folder on left side of screen. It then shows that the file is has increased and burn will fail. Will try and post another screenshot plus the Recode log.

Something I just noticed is the filepath on the screenshot is different than what is setup in Nero Recode. Went to the filepath that is listed in Recode (C:\Documents and Settings\Richard\My Documents\Nero Recode)but with the same problem. Do you think that having two different filepaths may be the issue with burning rom?

I thinking that the folder that your saving the files to for some reason isn't empty when Recode saves the files there.
Though Recode should give you a message saying this and giving you a prompt that it will delete the files if you click yes.
You've burned straight from dvd with recode right and didn't have nay problems right?
Ah I see you're a WoW player :)

Burning straight from Recode I haven't had an issue yet, it's only when I try and use Burning Rom. Recode does ask me if I want to overwrite and confirm by selecting "yes". I think I'll delete one of the filepaths and see if that works.
My son plays WoW, I was an Age of Empires freak though!

lol - my daughter is a big WoW player.
Check the folder before you save to the hard drive too. Delete any left over files - looks like it's just leaving 1 or 2 files in there for some reason. Nero should have deleted these files when you clicked yes bit for some reason it's not.

Well Im stumped but Burning Rom worked this time. I did delete the folder thinking that I had two seperate folders for Recode, but that wasn't the case. It just shows on Burning Rom display as My documents\NeroRecode files. I had to open and rename a new folder for Recode. To test it I compressed a movie and saved in the file, then compressed a different movie and overwrote what was in the file from the first movie. There were no problems and Burning Rom completed successfully. Will keep in mind to empty folder if I have the same issue. Thanks for your help it is much appreciated.

Your welcome JustBruin
You might just want to delete the files in the folder 1st instead of letting Recode do it - seems like it not always cleaning them all at.
Happy Burning!
