Well lets see...
I have the 3.40 OE-A and the SNES 9 and Dgen and PSPUAE christmas edition.
I also have several ISO/CSOs working just fine.

I'm not a nOOb but I'm no Dark Alex either.
So I guess I'll just consider myself a Noob Saibot.

what i learned is
Mininova seems has been the easiest to deal with
(espal and ewreloaded most reliable torrents).
The single iso package is what i understand.
i have the UMDgen 4.
I dont know anything about Devhook or fastloader

??
The archive that has a bunch of 20 meg files still intimidates me...would anyone care to explain that?

also, anyone with knowlege of rainbox six vegas torrent would be appreciated.

Thanks.

mininova is a good public site
you can find a list of torrent sites here
http://www.xtreme-source.com/showthread.php?t=1468

if you have 3.40 oe you don't need device hook or fastloader

the 20 meg files i think they are rar files install WinRAR then in one of the files rigth click ,extract files

winrar guide
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/248020

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas was not released yet

FULL UMD means the is the full content of the umd

RIP UMD means that they removed some files it could be sound ,music ,voices or movies or other stuff to make the iso smaller to fit in a smaller memory stick

you can find ripkits here

hi. thank u for being most helpful. i'll check out the other site.
:)

i did try to unRar one of the multi-arched format downloads but what is intimidating about it is its not just the game file archives...sometimes there other application files...beyond 'readme' or links to sites. so i dont know what to do with all of it. throw it all in to UMDgen and cso it? i dunno.
it seems the UMDgen is good for a PSP_GAME folder and the BIN file (save as iso/cso) or throw the second archive into it...but lately i realized that just putting the WinRAR archive into the ISO folder and it works that simple (the archive produced from the original download).

I recently tried After Burner Black-something from one of the ESPAL or EWRELOADED providers and it crashes (black screen)...but the avarage of working files to non have otherwise been good.

sometimes they include in the download internet shortcuts or readme files but you dont do anything with them ,they have nothing to do with iso ,read the readme file if there is nothing useful you can delete them

it sounds like you have WinRAR associated to isos ,start WinRAR click
options ,settings, integration where it says "associate WinRAR with" untick iso.

ok, I get that. I am familiar with readme files and extra packing that is like a link to a site...but the confusion is when I saw a couple other types of files...I deleted the whole mess so i cant be specific here, but it had an icon like a monitor and a question mark or something...i didnt know what it was or why.

Aside from that, right now im bt-downloading and the game is composed as a folder with two WinRAR archives in it (part one and part two). Now, do I unrar each one individually and recombine them somehow?
For that matter - how is this done with a dl that consists of say, 17 seperate archives? unrar each one? also, one particular game had about 12 archives that all had the same EXACT name, I unrared one and it seemed to work with the rest and...i dunno. it seems like when i dl just a simple cso/iso file its simple and works fine. why the need with all this elaborae archiving? I understand programs like Devhook or Fastloader arent even needed anymore, right? I have several games and never used either.

you dont extract one by one,you just need to start the extraction process in one file ,
make sure that all the rar files are inside the same folder and then in one of the files right click ,extract files and all the info contained inside the different rar files will be re-joined back together to form the original image

to play isos or cso with custom firmware you need to create a ISO folder (with capitals) in the root of your memory stick to put the isos or cso files
then in your xmb menu (psp menu) you go to game-»memory stick and run the games from there

i dont use torrents so i dont know much about this, the speed of the downloads from torrents depends how good is your internet connection, how many seeds as the file that you are downloading ,make sure your firewall is not blocking Azureus and also depends in the configuration of your router you may need to open the ports to Azureus

to open the ports, scroll down click in your router ,then click Azureus and follow the instructions
http://portforward.com/english/routers/p...routerindex.htm

try ask\search in the windows p2p forum

if you have sony official firmware 1.00 you need to upgrade to sony official firmware 1.50 and then you need to install one of dark alex custom firmwares 3.xx OE

1.50 firmware

ok, im sorry im new and really slow at this, but ummm what do I do next? I mean I have the ISO's and I downloaded the program, but where do I put it, and how do I make it work. I can move everything fine, but up until now everything I try results in a "corrupted data" message on my psp.

you might be able to create a folder called ISO and put stuff in it, but the Sony's firmware ignores it or whatever.
it's the custom firmware that knows what to do with an ISO.

Step one:
1.50 firmware
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/43

The very next thing you should do is download the
'Easy Installer Dark Alex Firmware 3.40 OE-A'

If you need live help, use the IRC live-help link on psp-hacks.com...but DO NOT discuss piracy, ISO, roms, etc...JUST ask questions about installing custom firmware.

* when you're all installed with custom firmware, like i said, the ISO folder will already be at the root directory. NOW you can click and drag your iso file into that folder and it should appear in your psp game menu. Also note, having the custom firmware, when you reboot your PSP, you will now have the ability to hold down the R button and enter in a 'Recovery Menu'.
this you will deal with later at some point but its just to let you know you'll have more control of the PSP's OS.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

what we are discussing in this thread are difrent types of iso-archives and sources. one iso is not the same as another. there are full-UMDs ripped-UMDs...isos in other lanugages...etc.
Iso-holes and a-holes that put a password protect on an archive...

I'm starting to get the idea now though.
sometimes its easy and the iso is simply one file - click and drag and its done.

"Gametorrents.com" for example likes that format with several files archived in 20 mb chunks. but, as was explained, you unarch one and it knows what to do with the rest providing its all in the same directory (folder).
Again, the bottom line is you end up with ONE file (.iso or .cso) to drop into the ISO folder.
and thats it.

Try to leave comments about the torrent if its shit, that saves us time in downloading a non-working iso.
thanks

Can anyone help me obtain the soundtrack for Motorstorm for PS3? Preferably in WAV or MP3 format?

...or a clue as to how I could find it?
