What are Commerical DVDs from studios???

Hi all,
So what catagory are DVDs from the movie makers like MGM etc? +R,-R -VIDEO????
I'm thinking -R or -VIDEO (whatever that is).

To go one step further to herbsman answer which is correct. They are dvd-video normaly -9 with book type being dvd-rom

Yeah thats right, the format is called DVD-VIDEO (DVD-ROM). They are most certainly not DVD-R. They differ from DVD R discs in that there is no organic dye on the surface of them since the data is not burnt on, but instead pressed on using a machine that has a template of the Data for pressing.

Slick. Thanks guys.

Herbsman, from your other post; were you talking XCOPY or XPRESS? I use the XPRESS version of DVDXCOPY. Its a two click rip and burn that does everything; when not in "FULL MOVIE" mode it can let you select which files you want to burn. And before you click the burn request you can go to the temp folder and copy all the files somewhere else cause it deletes them after the burn...lol. Neat.
