Thanks for replying. I have Nero 7 premium and under 'Audio' I do not see "Convert Tape 2 CD". I followed your step #3 as well. What version do you have??
Thanks,

greenda4, there is a free software called Audacity that can do this for you easily. Once installed you will need Lame 3.96.1, also free,an encoder that changes file to mp3. I have used this software to convert casettes and it works fantastic. Works great with my laptop too and can even record from XM radio directly from AOL without any wiring. There are several ways to connect casette player to your computer. Downloads with instruction links below. I read about this software in PC Magazine. Audacity also lets you easily edit, or use special effects like fade out, fade in, change tempo, many others etc. It's a gem and best of all it's free!

You shouldn't have to pay, just download the latest trial version and use that for now. www.nero.com.

I currently have a licensed version. Why is it that the updated current version is just a trial?? Shouldn't the update be a part of my licensed version?? 30 days is cool, but what happens after that??

After a trial period of 30 days you will either need to enter the serial key or purchase one and it will be activated. After 30 days it will stop working if you do not enter a valid serial, message me for a key if you need one.

Hey greenda4,
I've done a bunch of audio transfers n(lets say 300)and I've had the best results with the programs supplied with my Soundblaster Audigy 4 card.
I record with Smart Recorder in wave format (the whole side/tape), then split it into tracks with the same program, apply filters, and then save to harddrive.
I then use Nero (6 in my case at this time) to transfer from drive to disk.
Works like charm and the soundcard is great.
(Hey born2ride, how's it going?)

Hey greenda4,
Sorry about not getting back to you, I spaced!
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads...ype=3&x=30&y=16
This link will take you into the Creative.com's website to the download area. These are the programs attached to my soundcard, but I don't know if they will work with yours. Go ahead and download them, they are free. If they don't work, then do an unistall.

@ born2ride,
Doesn't take too long. I'd say about an hour start to finish and by start to finish I mean from the start of the capture of the tape/album to the finished, burned disk.
The filters are included with the software, which is free. Just follow the link.
