i am under the impressions my drive does not booktype.
so why is the Nero disc info showing as booktyped?

you drive is a re badged LG drive:

and you can/should be able to booktype your drive here:
just pick the LG tab and make sure your source drive is the HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H31N!
Nero automatically can set the Booktyping to DVD-ROMs if you have the setting box ticked!

about the dma i think they are sata drives. Nero will not report them correctly is what i am lead to beleive.
booktyping. normally on this drive all my setting are grayd out .(shrink, Nero) how ever i have not check it in dvddecrypter yet. i will thou.
my other drive will not be grayed out but i do not burn with it.
the link you provide me did not say anything about writing to dvdrom?
did i miss it?

the link for your drive does not show you about Booktyping, just that your drive is a re badged LG drive..... and you should be able to booktype the drive! I have a Philips 8631 that is a re badged BenQ drive and I can booktype that to DVD-ROMs! so should you be able to!
