i got it from a friend but i want official sony updates,
is there a way i can update my psp from 3.40 oe-a to 3.50 without bricking my system? will it brick if i update it?

if you do upgrade to 3.50 your screwed,you might never be able to downgrade ever again why on earth would you want to do that if you have 3.40oea?

You can, but not directly. You have to recover back to 1.5 first, then upgrade to 3.50. It's beyond my why you would want to do that. I have a LIST of people that would glad to PAY you to trade their new 3.5 with yours.

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe

Yah dude, honestly just stick with what you have now, which is a PSP that can do everything and more. Nothing wrong with having a custom firmware and once you realize the possibilities you will love 3.40 oe, trust me.
