Winrar archive extracts as another archive, HELP!!

Hi! I'm having problems extracting the WinRAR archives. When I click to extract, another WinRAR archive appears. We just upgraded our O.S to windows xp 64 bit from 32 bit...I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks!
