Hello, I have a Wii and whould like to buy a modchip what is the best modchip there is also i bought my wii the day it came out, i have the latest update on it, And will i be able to disable the modchip in the future,are the wii modchips easy to install,i have a solder and some basic soldering skills would i be able to install it myself or should i take it to a shop, what shops offer that service?
what will i need to install the modchip (ex.cable)?
With the modchip installed will i be able to play backups of all the wii games?

The best chip that I've heard in the next few weeks is the WiiP.
But for now it's the Wiikey. BUT if you want then you can make your own chip for free aka. the Wiifree.
Basic soldering skills and a steady hand are needed to install any chip. Make sure to sharpen the tip of your iron.
You will be able to play all Wii games of your region with the Wiikey. There is some compatability with other regions as well, but I advise to just stick with your own.
There is a stealth mode for some chips- just read up on them.
The Wiikey was the first chip I ever installed and it was easy. I practiced beforehand with old electronics, though.

What are the differences between the Wiikey and the CycloWiz as
in pros and cons,what materials did you use to install your modchip
(ex.triwing screwdriver,wire)
Also can the wiikey play dvd movies?
Is the wiiD any good?

I like (The head honcho) better then (Psycho Ninja Diehard WiiD Fanboy) maybe I will change my signature.
Do I come off as acting like the head honcho?
The only reason I choose WiiD over Wiikey is all the talk about how the Wiikey does not have audio support for streaming audio on game Cube games. I have allot of Game Cube Games and want to be able to play them.
Plus it has a disable option where Wiikey doesn't. As of now that option is not needed but as I stated before I would rather have that option available if there ever comes a time that it will be needed.
Other then that the Wiikey and WiiD pretty much do the same. As most other Modchips as well. It is really just a preference on what you like best.

what is the best type of media for backups? (brand,-/+,speed)
is the wiip v2 out,when will it be out.
How do you program the wiiP is it worth getting it?

Oh yeah, I'll wait for the new version.
I personally use Verbatim DVD+R 8X with VideoGard and burn at 4X with ImgBurn. All of my Wii games work perfectly. Just get the best media (Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden) and you'll be fine.
Nope, in a couple of weeks.
Wait for the version 2.

what is videogard?
Will DVD-R also work or is DVD+R better whats the difference?
Is there 2 versions of the WiiP v2,the WiiP v2 and the Team Xecuter Wiip v2
To use the WiiP how do you set it up?(dvd,serial,usb)
Should i get the Wiikey or the WiiP v2

Wow, you have a lot of questions lol.
VideoGard is protection that provides over 40 times more scratch resistance than standard media.
Both work. Some people's DVD burners just support -R and not +R, mine is the other way around.
Team Xecuter is the one you want.
haven't had experience with the WiiP yet, So I can't tell ya.
Just wait for the Team Xecuter WiiP v. 2. I am :).

ndarkness- why would you want to switch out your wiikey for a wiifree, one wiikey is better and two just wait till the wiip v2

I might get it and replace my WiiD with it. Depends on what it offers and how the reviews go after it has been released. But it sounds like a promising Modchip.

im confused now...i always thought wiikey was the way to go but now that everyone is talkin about these other chips im not sure what to do???? im most farmiliar with wiikey so maybe i should just go with that...unless theres a reason i shouldnt
