hi to all! i have an 80GB LG RH7500 DVD recorder and have read that the maxtor 80GB HD can be replaced with a maxtor drive of greater capacity. however, i am confused as to whether software from LG will be needed to record and burn using the new HD? any help would be most appreciated.

I can't really say for sure, but I don't see why you would need to. All you're doing is adding more space.

Maybe if you put a Seagate HD in, something different would need to be done. But using the same brand shouldn't affect it that way.
