with Vortox releasing a PAL game being patched to NTSC and releasing it as NTSC-U, I figured that it'll be a good idea to list any other release groups who may be doing the same thing.

which group is the best group that has released accurately labeled NTSC/PAL game?

Before I started making my own backups (I didn't have an LG drive. I do now), I was grabbing backups from the group Bittorment. I haven't had a problem with any of their backups.

As far as I know the Mario Strikers Vortex NTSC(U) game disc was the only 1 that was released mislabeled like this.

The thing about this release is the NFO stated it was riped from an NTSC(U) game disc. Never once suggested it was a patched version of the PAL game disc. This is why I think the torrent should have been taken off trackers.

If they would have said it was a Patched PAL version in the NFO then it would be no ones fault but the downloader. But since it said riped from an NTSC(U) disc then you would assume it would be safe to run and update on an NTSC(U) Wii.

I also messaged multiple sites that had this torrent uploaded and none of the torrent sites seemed to care because the torrent was never taken down.

Which brings me to the following conclusion. Since the Groups and Torrent sites don't seem to care about potently harmful torrents then it manly comes down to the downloader. The downloader has a responsibility as well to make sure you take the precautions from letting this happen. Always make sure your Wii is updated to the latest firmware and you will not run across this problem again.

It will be intersting to see how many Groups start using this Wii Brick Blocker on their torrents before releasing them for download.

I don't see what's their motive to lying and saying that it's a NTSC release unless they want to brick NTSC Wiis.

While it's still up to the downloader to make sure he's updated with the latest firmware from Nintendo Wifi, it's still bad practice to lie and say such things like ripping from a NTSC when it was really a PAL.

Makes one question what their future releases will hold, what else they'll be putting in and their quality.
