yes you can, you can play online games with back ups or origins. the only way to get bricked is if firmware is not up to date with the game....hit* keep firmware updated.....plane and simple

You can update your Wii by doing the following procdure...
1)Find the Wii user manual that came with your Wii.
2)Open it up and find the table of contents.
3)Now look for (Updating Wii) next to this there should be a page number to go to.
4) go to that page number
5) read from left to right to find out how to update the Wii.

going back to the meat of your original question, i believe most xboxs are only getting banned for firmware hacks, rather than verified media.

I know its offtopic, but here is a link to the xbox 360 banning problem.
Xbox 360s banned
I figure that the same problem could happen with Wii, but I guess thats the price you pay huh? >..> I hope it doesn't though, that would be cool :D

@juice381
If you don't like my post and think it is offensive then report it to a Mod.
jamsie81 evidently didn't have a problem with it.
@jamsie81
Yes keeping your Wii up to date is very important if you are playing out of Region game Disc. It will protect you from possibly bricking your Wii.

It's not that I find your replies offensive. I just find you hypocritical. " This is a helping forum" you have mentioned that quite often; and although you know alot about the scene your quite rude. Humiliating someone is not the way to get your point accross. Even though Jamie didn't say anything to you I DID. I'll make it easier for myself I'll just think of you as a child who just doesn't know any better. I'll keep my thoughts to myself from now forth for the better sake of AD.

As I said before if you find it sarcastic and humiliating then report me to a Mod.
I will admit it was a little sarcastic but look at the question.
Very rarely do I make a sarcastic remark but when it is warranted I will be the first and not the only 1 to do it.
I do say This is a helping forum because it is. I have helped allot on this site. But when I was at the point of becoming a newbie in the Wii Modscene I took my time by going through the past threads of this forum and gained my knowledge from them.
Why should anyone be any different? The past post are there for a reason and its getting ridiculous of all the same questions being asked over and over again. Plus pointless threads asked that could be answered by reading a users manual.
Most of the time members sign up and just hit the new thread button. Then ask their question without searching. Which ends up cluttering up the forum.
Why should I or anyone else have to sort through multiple threads of the same question being asked over and over again or pointless questions as (how do I update my Wii). making it harder for me to find a thread with a legit question that hasn't been covered before or hasn't been covered often.
So yeah I do get irritated at times and a sarcastic remark comes out at times. Thats because of all the crap Others & I have to wade through.

FireRebel, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
juice381, easy on the comments & i know you apologised to larrylje but be careful. you don't do 2500 plus posts for an addict or for me 30k plus posts & not get frustrated with some posts or some posters.
