ICS ON XBOX DASHBOARD!!!

I'm having a lot of trouble setting up xbox live through ICS.

I have a chipped xbox with XBMC, and ICS works perfectly. When I go into my xbox dashboard and type in the same settings as my XBMC (IP address, Subnet mask etc.) nothing happens, when the dashboard tries to connect, it says 'the network gateway could not be reached'.
I don't see why ICS works with XBMC, but not with the XBOX dashboard.

Please help!!!
