What's up guys? First post here...

So I just got my Wii modded. I can now play copied games...WOO.

Here's my question, can I now run the Wii System Updates (via WiFi Internet access)safely?

OR, does Nintendo have code in these updates that could fry my mod chip or otherwise screw up my system?

You're free to pdate, as far as I know. I've got a WiiKey installed and I can update just fine.

#1 I'm brand new to this site, not to mention a complete noob when it comes to modding systems
#2 I tried the "search", and maybe I'm using the wrong keywords, but I couldn't find a thread that deals with my specific question.
#3 Yes, I modded my Wii without knowing whether or not I could do Internet updates. It was always my position that I'd rather have a modded Wii then have access to the Internet with it, if the Internet couldn't work, then I was ok with it.
#4 So, from the replies that were posted to this thread, it's safe for me to say that I can connect a modded Wii to the Internet and do ANYthing Internet related without any repercussions?

yep thats correct. BUT if you are playing games from different regions that your wii [e.g playing a PAL game on a NTSC] then you should check to see whether it makes your Wii do an update as if it does, and your wii is not already updated then you Wii may become bricked and unplayable. An easy way to be safe if before you play a new backup game, just check for updates on your wii making sure its got the latest 1 so nothing can go wrong.
