Greetings!

I just acquired a DVD burner,
a "HP DVD Writer dvd300i", and after much confusion i came across a trial version for DVD X Copy XPRESS.

I got it to backup one of my dvd's, and the copy process seemed to go alright, but then, when i put it into my dvd player, a Pioneer of some sort, it just says 'Loading DVD' and sits there.

Also I have another computer with a DVD Reader, and it can't understand it either.

But when i put it back in the DVD Burner, it reads fine, and PowerDVD will even play it.

I am somewhat confused. Any suggestions?

Your PC will play virtualy anything , but stand alone dvd players will not.

Check the compatibilty of your dvd player here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers

What did you burn w/ ...DVDxCopy itself ?
All 321 Studios software is rubbish , I'd dump dvdxcopy if I were you & get a copy of DVD Shrink 3 beta5 (is freeware) cos it's a lot better.
Then use something like Nero to burn dvd files in a VIDEO_TS folder <-- very important !

Guides : http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

(if using Nero 6 then use Nero DVD-Video guide or if using Nero 5.5.x.x. use UDF/ISO mode)

herb.

Thats what I thought was happening, but, as i said, it didn't work in another computer i have which has a dvd-rom drive.

For the record, I was trying to backup my copy of "Gone in 60 seconds."

Also I checked the website, and my dvd player is compatible with all kinds of writable DVD's.

But thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot.

it can be the software program also. I originally used dvdxcopy also and even though I had successful burns that would play on my computer, they would not play in my standalones. When I went to the xcopy forum, it was suggested that it was my media.(I use dvd-r)

While I was waiting for my media(riteks) to arrive, I started using DVD Shrink and recordnow and I don't have any compatibility issues anymore. My standalones would do the exact same thing--not even recognize that a disc was in there.

Bottom line-- I use DVD Shrink and recordnow with 100% success even with my other media.
