hi just bought a jap wii (i live in uk)
it will be here next weak
i have backedup all my brothers games as he owns a PAL wii
just wonderded if my wii will play them ok ( it will have awiikey installed)

also if i update my jap wii online will i get the newest updates and be able to play mario strikers

As long as your mod-chip has region override then it should play the games fine(I believe WiiKey does I have a cyclowiz)

and yes if you update your WII online it should be version 2.2J and you will be allowed to go ahead and play strikers

i suggest you know the answer before you answer scruffy

not all games work on different region wiis regardless of region override
look at this website for which games will work and which ones wont

p.s does that site list originals game only i.e a original PAL uk version or does that mean both original and backed up wouldnt work thanks

it means any game whether original or copy

some games that are PAL will work on NTSC with the aid of wiiregion which WILL change the region of the game - this will only work on some games and they are listed on the site in green

also it depends on which chip u have installed

I wouldn't do a trial and error.

You need to take a look at that list that Thinone gave you. If the list says the game is not region compatible for your NTSC(J) Wii then it will not work.

Just a little more info. When you go to that list you will look under the section of...

NTSC(U) TO NTSC(J) For NTSC(U) Game Disc that are region compatible. with your NTSC(J)

PAL TO NTSC(J) For PAL Games that are compatible with your NTSC(J)

You are going to waist DVD's if you try burning a game that is not region compatible with your NTSC(J) Wii.

Plus as suggested above. If you are going to play out of region game disc on your NTSC(J) Wii make sure you always have the Wii updated with the latest firmware to protect yourself from bricking your Wii. (2.2J is the latest as of now)

hiya yes
i am going to take the list into considerationbut i have alot of games here that are not on the list and i am not sure what region all the games are
(except the PAL ones i backed up from my bros wii)
