Ok I have 2 Wii's and I have been contemplating modding them. I have already modded my 360's with no problem at all. Regarding the Wii thought here are so many choices on chips. I see the Wiikey is great but they are delayed on updated and the Cyclowiz v2 looks great but some retailers dont have stock and there are new chips out every few weeks it seems. I've been wanting to mod them for a few weeks now but I still have no idea what chip to choose. I was considering a Cloned chip but then read some nasty reviews of them giving out so I am going to stay away from there.

If anyone could provide some help and also let me know how I know what chipset my Wii is without opening it; based on the serial number I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

go with the wiinja deluxe. They are the only modchip that i know that had no issue with gamecube and wii. They can be upgradeable same thing like the cyclowiz, same feature, but without the switch sticking out, make it looked like a original wii. Make sure it wiinja deluxe and not wiinja v2, ppl think they're the same, but the wiinja v2 is the old modchip and can't be updated.

oh stayed away from wiikey. I don't think a update will be coming out. They said it supposed to be out, but it been month ago. Right now some gamecube are having issue with wiikey. But i heard from another forum that the wiikey team are breaking up, so the updated will be delay or no updated.

do you know if the wiinja deluxe will work on both chip sets? i think I found a link that shows the identification of the chips by serial # just dont know how legitimate it is.

are you talking about the new wii that can't be modded? i heard ppls can still mod it if you cut a small piece of the black plastic where the 3 pinned it missing and connected from the inside. If i can find a picture i'll post it.

here is it
