winavi will not finalize

when i try to convert an AVI file to dvd with winavi it will not finalize. I had no trouble when using with windows xp but i am now using vista basic and just cannot get it to work. I have tried various versions of winavi(6.3, 7.1, and 7.7) and have the same prob with all.

Try this.Don't even know if it works under Vista.

Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
