OK. Done a bit of reading before posting. I have found out the V12 have laser problems, but it is never clear if they have a no video output. Which I seem to have both. Let me tell you the story and maybe you can guide me to the correct solution.
I purchased MagicSwap3.8 with the Pro keys. I went through the process of installing the keys. When I got the the pro Key I was able to trip the switch and make the laser move out, up and down, and light. But for whatever reason I couldn't make the key remain on the switch. I tried several times. No biggie I'll crack the case and install the internal key. Cracked the case open (no real cracking involved came apart like butter). Installed the key, reassembled, hook it back up. Now this is the part that's got me upset.
I hook it up power on, I get no video out my Samsung reads "Weak or No Video Signal", the laser moves out, up and down, and does not light. Sum B**th!
Pull out the magic swap keys and still get the same thing, no video, laser moves out, up and down, but doesn't light.
I also noticed sometimes when powering it up the light would go green then it would turn back to red with in a second or two.
Is it just quickydink that the laser died when I was doing the install? and because it died it never completes the booting? I am an automation engineer so I made sure I grounded myself before opening the case and I wasn't in the case for more then 1 minute and only dinked with the door switch.
At a loss :( I have a Fat PS2 that needs a laser swap but would like to at least get my Slimline back to good. I found a site for the laser and carriage, but want to make sure that is what it is.
