Controlling Computer Speaker Volume with TV Remote

I just recently attempted to connect my 4.1 Klipsch computer speakers to a 42" ILo LCD Television. Since the computer speakers had 2 mini plugs connected to the computer's sound card, I bought a headphone Y-adapter cable and plugged the two mini-plugs from the computer speakers into it. Then I connected the Headphone Y-adapter cable to an audio cable Y-adapter with a coupler. After this was all hooked up I plugged the two RCA ends into the Audio Out connecters on the back of the TV.

It seemed to work like a champ with the sound coming out of my 4.1 computer speakers now. The only problem I had with it though is that whenever I went to turn the volume up or down it only seemed to be operating the TV speakers. I was having to manually turn the computer speakers volume up or down with the knobs on the main speaker. Is there any way to get around this problem and leave the audio volume knob of the computer speakers at a constant level and use the TV remote to turn the complete system's volume up or down???
