Is there any way to tell if a downloaded Wii ISO is NTSC or PAL? I know the NFOs tell you, but my big concern is if someone patched the game and doesn't mention it. I did a search and didn't find anything. I also make sure my firmware is up to date before running any new game, and am going to start using Wii Brick Blocker just to be safe. Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I'd hate to brick my Wii. Thanks

The new version of Wii Brick Blocker will give you that information.

I did a test with it to make sure this will work.

I loaded an NTSC(U) game ISO into Wii Brick Blocker and selected the game info option it said it was an NTSC/USA region game disc.

I then used Wiigionfree to patch the NTSC(U) game disc to PAL. I then loaded that ISO in Wii brick Blocker selected the game info option and it still said it was an NTSC/USA game disc.

So it seems Wii Brick Blocker will still give the original region of the game disc even if it has been region patched to a PAL or NTSC(J) region disc.

You can get the newest multi-language version of Wii brick Blocker from the link below. It is version 1.3

To be safe I would...

1) still keep your Wii up to date with latest firmware.

and

2) use Wii Brick Blocker to disable the update on the game disc.

Awesome! Thanks for the informative reply larryjle, that is exactly what I was looking for. Can't be too careful with my precious Wii. I feel confident that using both suggestions, I will be able to remain brick free!
