Not sure if this is what you got. But this is what I have.

http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802254

All I did was plug it up usb on my computer. And did the setup. It installs the software and your done. It is a wireless accesspoint so the wii can connect if you dont already have wireless. No ethernet required.

I think you are talking about the LAN Adapter and not the WiFi adapter that was linked above.

If this is the case then you will need to plug the LAN Adapter into the Wii USB port. Now connect the networking cable from the Wii to your DSL/CABLE Modem.

You then will need to go into your Wii settings.

On the second page of the Wii settings you should have an Internet option.

Select the Internet Option then select Connection Settings. Now select a new connection and choose wired connection. It should then set up a LAN connection to your Modem.

If you want your Computer and Wii connected to the Internet at the same time then you need to do 1 of 2 things.

1) Connect your DSL/CABLE Modem to your computer Via USB if the modem offers that option. (Allot of Modems have both USB and a Network Cable connection on the back of the Modem. This will allow you to hook your computer up Via USB and hook your Wii up Via Network Cable)

Or

2) Buy a router. The router doesn't necessarily have to be wireless. But you can use a wireless router with either WiFi or a LAN adapter.

I doubt you will see much difference.

All you can do is hook it up and see if you notice any speed difference from when you have it setup Via Ethernet.

Are you sure the LAN Adapter you bought off ebay is compatible with the Wii?

You should have no problem setting it up like I have showed you above.

All you should have to do is connect one end of the Ethernet cable into your modem then connect the other end into the Wii LAN Adapter and plug the Wii LAN Adapter USB connection into the Wii.

Then go to your Wii settings and create a new connection choosing the Wired connection.

If this does not work for you then maybe you have a defective Ethernet Cable or Lan Adapter.
