Are XBox 360 backups dependant on the drive in the XBox?

I'm preparing to backup all of my XBox games as I've already lost one to one of my friends sitting on it!
I have all the software and firmware I need and the SAMSUNG SH-D162C DVD-ROM drive on order. I have just had a thought though. As I don't know what drive is in my 360, (I'll check and confirm tonight) will using a SAMSUNG SH-D162C drive have any effect? What I mean is this; lets say I have an Hitachi GDR-3120L drive or a BENQ VAD6038 in my XBox and I back up my games using a SAMSUNG SH-D162C drive, will they still work?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.
