some times when i turn my comp on the monitor says "no signal" and shows a black screen so i have to turn the comp off in the back and turn it on again why does the "no signal" show up

No signal means the monitor is not receiving an input from the PC. This suggests the PC is failing to POST (power on self test) properly when you turn it on. This is probably unlikely but is it overclocked?

When ever where not using the monitor we turn it off so its off all night

Never mind, it obviously isn't. Does moving the mouse or pressing keys on the keyboard resolve the problem?

no it just says no signal for a few seconds then the screen goes blank

i would check the cable is fitted right first, then with another if pos, then i would do the same with the vid card. if both of those still give the same results i would then guess its the screen.
