No CAPS and I don't think so. You would need the use of a slide card (or make one) but the CD will still be spinning in the tray which is very dangerous, and under no circumstances, should you attempt to pull the tray out of the fat PS2 while your PS2 is trying to read the game. For the slim PS2, some games still spin even while you try to do the trick you suggest, but it is also a game they don't care much for and could easily care less for. It's like using any PSX wrestling game and using that as a boot method to playing backup PSX games. So your answer is: no, not on a fat PS2. Unless someone knows more to it than I do, which I believe is the case, then I don't think you can do so.

Z3120 is correct about it being bad for your ps2, regardless.
however it is possible to boot PSX (thats the original playstation games) on a fat ps2 using the method described in this post.

not that while it SAYS it works for ps2 backups too, in reality, and this has been verified, it only works for PSX backups(but you can play them on your ps2).

Nope, wouldn't you need the use of a Swap Magic disc set or a mod-chip to read Action Replay in the first place...? (sarcasm)

You can do nothing really. You need either the use of a Cheat Device like Gameshark 2, Action Replay or so forth to do an MC exploit where you load up the program onto your memory card. Since you have none of thee above, nothing would work I assume unless you get something to do something. And quit multi-posting about the same thing (i.e. the multiple threads about the same issue).

Im sorry to butt in on someone elses thread but i bought my Swap Magic coder 3.8 (inc.Swap dvd + cd 3.6) and the magic keys for 16 quid inc postage! Its hardly going to break the bank now,is it?And you would rather risk your console (and fingers by the sound of it!) on some crappy heresay or myth.Complete and utter stupidity in my opinion.
Greed will get the better of you.Its one thing saying
"i dont want to pay for games so ill buy Swap Magic" but you really are taking the p@*!$ if you dont even want to pay for the exploit that will enable free gaming. What next?
"i have a friend who has a 360 but i couldnt help but notice that a cornflake box is very similar in shape,is it possible that i can make my own!!!"
16 quid mate, thats nothing. And before you start with "might not be alot to you...." script bear in mind that i am unemployed on probably less of an income than you.Serious.
