Ok. I have quite a few questions about the Wiikey.

1. I bought my Wii from a EBgames in Canada. So is it NTSC or PAL?
If I rent or buy a game from blockbusters in canada, is it NTSC or PAL?

2. Just to clarify! When renting games in a Canadian Blockbusters, are they going to be NTSC games?

3. Is Wii disks dual layered?

4. Should I burn at 2x speed?

5. If I just rent and no download(rip onto PC) will I have problems with them loading? or is that only with downloaded ones...

Thankyou so so much for answering!

1. NTSC NTSC

2. NTSC

3. No

4. Depends on your discs and writer

5. You have to have a very specific burner to rip games. Either:
LG-8164b
LG-8163b
LG-8162b
LG-8161b
No others will work

actually, you will be better off with downloaded games that are ripped by professional groups dedicated to the scene rather than ripping and and perhaps botching it yourself. You also save some money on your backups.

I dont have time to download like 50 parts...

Rather burn em myself.

I also bought this for a drive...

LG
Electronics
GDR8164BK 16X
DVD,52X CD
ROM
Bulk/Black

Im 99% that it is the right one...

So anything I rent in canada will not brick the wii i bought in canada?

My PC is very good...but what is the best speed that will be the best to run on the Wii?

yes if you rent and/or buy your games that you are backing up from Canada, there is a 0% chance that you will brick your wii.

The best speed I find is 4x-8x.

I burn at 8x using Maxell DVD-R's and haven't had a problem as of yet.

yes, its the right one. i have the same one. i burn at 4x speed. i use taiyo yuden 8x dvd -r. they're cheap but great quality. i've made about 10 backups without any problems. you shouldn't have a problem with the games being from a different region.

Thankyou! That's awesome!

I have TDK DVD's. They can't be written over so I am thinking they are DVD-R. Is TDK a good brand to use for em?

Why would you rent a game?

If your making a backup then you should already own the game disc.

So there should be no need to rent the game to back it up.

Maybe he already did buy it and his dog chewed on it and now he can't back up his own disc, so he has to rent it??
