I'm planning on buying a HP refurbished laptop from Fry's. Not sure its a good idea or not. Any opinions?

I'd advise against it. Second hand laptops are far more reliable than refurbished models, because they're only refurbished since they were sent back for repairs. The number of times manufacturers mess up repairing stuff is alarming.
