i bought my psx seccond hand so i dont konw if its has a mod chip to support burnt games....

try playing a burnt game. if it works, its modded, if not, its not.
second sure fire way is to open it up and see if theres any "extra" wires floating around.

just an idea but you might take a good look at the warentee sticker. If its intact and dosent say ''VOID'' all over it then your ps2 hasnt been disasembled....meaning no modchip

two of my late-gen psx's didnt have a warranty sticker over the edge seam. and the two early gen ones that did i modded without damaging the sticker.

i would recommend just making a backup of a small psx game and giving it a spin.
