For the most part, I've had success with burning games for the Wii and not having disc read errors. I recently hit a run of bad luck and have had quite a few, for games such as RE4 and Bleach. I also have used both burning programs, Nero and imgburn.

The question

What speed would be acceptable for the best optimal performance? Or what have you had luck on? I've been using 8, then tried 4, and have had some success and problems with both.

Also, to clarify, I don't have a more mainstream mod chip. This is one a friend programed himself. If need be I can try to find the name of it, if similar to any of the other designs.

Thanks for your time =)

Is your Wii PAL region?

If so Bleach is not region compatible with PAL Wii systems. So that game can not be played on a PAL system no matter what you try.

I have seen allot of PAL users having issue with RE4 as well.

Some claim that they can not play RE4 on their Wii system but others had said they can play it as long as they change the Wii to 60Hz so maybe try that to see if it works.

If you have a NTSC(U) System or NTSC(J) system then try different media.

I have a NTSC U system. I get the games to run, thats not the problem. It's random disc read errors in the middle of the game.

For example: I'm walking down the path in RE4 to the first town... and step in a bear trap.. and I get a disc read error, see the wii operation guide!

I assume this is a burn related issue, I'm just not sure if anyone else has ran into such problems.

I've also yet to burn a disc at 2x speed, because I'm lazy and hate waiting for things. I guess that would be the next smartest thing to try, then possibly getting a new burner itself.

more likely a dodgy burn or a flaw / mark on the disc
