Hi Guys

Your help in this matter will greatly be appreciated !

I have had a Pioneer 104 for around 1 year and its been brilliant

all of a sudden though the following is happening

1) Nero reports "Communication errors" before even starting to write the disk
2) PrimoDVD reports "Not Ready"
3) Will still read all dvd perfectly
4) Will still burn CDR perfectly

I am using Ritek G03 and have reinstalled XP for good measure

Is this drive just knackered ? Please help me breath some more life into it

Solved my own issue :)

For any interested - I had installed a new 120Gb hdd

Windows XP in its infinite wisdom (bless it), changed my transfer protocol to UDMA on my secondary master and thereby stuffed my 104

Changed it back to PIO mode and whallah it worked !!
